Pinoy Indie Darlings Release New Album

    Local indie band ANG BANDANG SHIRLEY recently launched their much-awaited sophomore album Tama na ang Drama under Wide Eyed Records in successful fashion at B-sideCourtyard. The album is the follow-up to their critically-acclaimed debut album Themesongs released under Terno Recordings almost five years ago.

    Ang Bandang Shirley is comprised of Owel Alvero, Selena Salang, Ean Aguila, Jing Gaddi, Joe Fontanilla, Zig Rabara and Kathy Gener. Their album was recorded from June 2010 to October 2012 at Love One Another Studio with TJ Brillantes, Allan Malabanan, Joey Santos and Pancho Stormrider with producer Jerome Velasco. The record contains 15 tracks, including the single "Nakauwi Na," which was recently hailed as the number one OPM single of 2012 by local music blog Ang Bandang Shirley has steadily garnered a considerably good following in the indie circuit, and has often elicited what has been coined in the circuit as "mushpits," with people moshing to the band’s live set of mostly sentimental songs.
