Rico Blanco, who boosted his first solo foray Your Universe with hit singles such as “Yugto,” the title track and “Antukin,” is set to release his second solo album entitled Galaktik Fiestamatik. The launching single off that album “Amats” just debuted on some of the country’s top radio stations.
The album was reportedly performed and recorded on his own studio attic all by himself. According to a press release put out by Warner Music Philippines, his record label and management arm, Blanco went into mad scientist mode and employed a lot of unusual instruments and aimed for a more abrasive and unorthodox approach. Powerhouse London three-piece FIREFALLDOWN aren’t your typical rock band. The band, including their missionary lead singer, have robed themselves as sonic missionaries, intent on using the power of music to convey life’s larger messages of sacrifice, truth, and love. Far from softening their sound however, their collective drive pumps their music with passionate beats, skillfully tailored melodies, and a surprisingly hard edge. Taking cues from everything from motown and jazz to new wave and hardcore, they’ve cultivated an acutely polished sound akin to the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sublime.
Spawned in London in the Summer of 2006, the Filipino-British trio hit the road relentlessly, touring throughout the UK, Philipines, Poland, and the U.S. Their vigorous live shows have been described as ‘dynamic, intriguing and underpinned by a refreshing intelligence’. They soon released two singles, which received airplay on Kerrang! TV, Scuzz, and XFM, and also bagged opening slots for rock kings ‘Coheed and Cambria’.
FIREFALLDOWN are now primed to launch their debut album ‘These Wounds’, under the newly formed Small Town Records sub-label, ‘Love Music Movement’, on May 21, 2012. Dextrously forging enticing melody and hearty riffage with clever off-kilter phrasing, their debut album is as impassioned as it is seasoned, showcasing their adept ability to serve up colossal hooks alongside potent lyrics. Catch their album launch show live as it’s streamed online at www.healthesewounds.co.uk on the 9th of June at 9pm GMT. Their single, ‘These Wounds’ , is currently gracing TV screens across the UK. Keep an eye on these ones; they’re moving forward fast.

After coming out of hiatus last year with their seventh studio album When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes to worldwide acclaim, Hopeless recording artists YELLOWCARD are getting ready for another big and powerful year with “ALWAYS SUMMER,” the first released track from the upcoming album due out later this year. With a new lineup (Josh Portman fills in for departing bassist Sean O’Donnell), Yellowcard have been hard at work in the studio with longtime producer Neal Avron, creating another career highpoint in a history filled with pinnacles.

Confident and strengthened by the fan support they’ve received on their return with WYTTSY, this song is not only a love song of sorts, but also a thank you to their fans, in which Ryan Key sings, “I think I have everything I need / It got dark, but now I think I see / The World around is full of arms still reaching out to me.”
